My Philosophy
As your coach, my job is to help you address these core questions:
- What do you want?
- What are you tolerating?
- What do you believe?
- What do you need to do?
I believe that being quiet and listening to ourselves is a skill that can be learned and practiced and relied upon – and that doing so always leads us to greater authenticity, acceptance, awareness, and answers.
I believe that coaching is not a magic bullet, but an opportunity to learn about yourself, challenge yourself, defy inertia, and move forward in your life and work.
I believe in getting good at throwing darts without worrying so much about hitting the bullseye.

I believe that treating ourselves with lovingkindness, even when - especially when - it's hard, is the only way to move forward and grow and deepen our connection to life and therefore our sense of fulfillment with ourselves, our work, our relationships.
I believe in the credo, "You cannot plow a field by turning it over in your mind." There is nothing quite as empowering as doing things, especially if you’ve been thinking about them for a long time.
I also think you can plow all the fields in the land and still be lonely, anxious, or fearful, lugging around a heavy sack of dissatisfaction. (That may be a good time for therapy.)
I believe that we are all naturally resourceful and creative reflections of the Divine. I believe in the power of intention, the power of the obvious, and the power of self-acceptance. I even believe in cliches: life is a canvas and we get to choose our colors and brushes. I believe we sell ourselves short. As Marianne Williamson famously wrote, "Your playing small does not serve the world."
I believe that the fast-paced, information-laden, consumer-driven, media-blitzed, throw-away, fear-based, celebrity-obsessed, class-conscious, technology-overloaded, quick-fix, extreme-makeover, excessively crowded and noisy culture we find ourselves swimming in is making us individually and collectively crazy.
I believe that the choice to step out of this soup takes courage, trust, and commitment – and is an essential step towards discovering and living by your own values.
I believe that we are often paralyzed by fear of the unknown. It can be very, very hard, very scary, to actually say out loud what your dream is. I believe that saying it, even in a whisper, is a radical act that will allow you to dip a pinky toe in new waters.
The Universe is not toting around some Great, Mystical Hidden Agenda that we have to go on a Great, Mystical Scavenger Hunt through life to find. Everything we need is here, available, ours for the asking and the receiving.
